Defending PGLL champion Saskatoon Brewers won Game 1 on Saturday 10-5 to take command in the best-of 3 series. Knowing the Moose Jaw Chiefs had their back against the wall, the Brewers expected a battle and got just that. Game 2 was tight throughout as Saskatoon held a slim lead throughout the opening period. At first intermission the score was 3-2.
Midway into the second period Moose Jaw took their first lead of the game, 5-4 and held that one-goal advantage at intermission 6-5.
The two teams battled in the third and with just over nine minutes remaining the score was tied 7-7. Moose Jaw would not be denied their Game 3 chance and went on to win 10-8 to force the 10-minute mini-game.
One goal was all that was needed in the mini-game and it was scored by the Chiefs Tanner Kittler. The victory secured the series 2-1 and the first championship in Moose Jaw Chiefs short two-year history.
