2014 NJCAA MEN’S LACROSSE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2014 NJCAA National Tournament is set to get underway this weekend with two Maryland JUCO Athletic Conference teams hosting quarterfinal games. Winners will advance to the tournament semifinals to be played at Nassau Community College on May 10-11.
#3 seed CCBC-Essex (13-2) – Region XX champion, defeated AACC 12-4 in the region final. The Knights only losses were to the top two seeds in the tourney. Defeated quarterfinal opponent BCC 17-3 on April 5. Marcus Dietz (45 goals, 39 assists) is the third-highest scorer in NJCAA. Cameron Stone (34 G, 12 A) and Anthony Zabielski (22 G, 11 A) add scoring punch to the Knights offense.
#6 seed Brookdale Community College (6-9) – The BCC Jersey Blues won the Region XIX for the fifth-straight year, upsetting top-seeded Union County College 11-8 in the final. After dropping eight of their first nine games, the Jersey Blues have been on a roll. Tom Dougherty (29 G, 17 A) and Dan Bury (27 G, 20 A) led the Brookdale offense while Kyle Brennan (12.26 GAA, .489 save%) protects the net.
#4 seed Anne Arundel Community College (13-6) – Winners of five of their last seven, the Pioneers were Region XX runner-up. Hunter Cetrone (43 G, 20 A), Patrick Cavanaugh (34 G, 25 A) and Reece Sullivan (28 G, 3 A) lead a balanced attack. Sophomore Michael Brennan (7.45 GAA, .612 save%) is among NJCAA leaders.
#5 seed SUNY Delhi (14-3) – Region III runner-up, the Broncos lost in the final to top-ranked Onondaga CC 34-2. Only other team to defeat Delhi this season was their opponent, AACC. Won 12 games in-a-row before region final. Anchored by goalie Rob Rohan (8.16 GAA, .638 save%). Top scorers include Jake Guy (34 G, 22 A), Paul Hylan (22 G, 24 A) and Colby Treat (23 G, 14 A).
