Week 9 of play in the National Lacrosse League | NLL was filled with several great team and individual performances. With the Minnesota Swarm the only team playing two games this weekend, chances were good for someone to put together a streak. In fact, two Swarm players are featured in the top performances this week.
NLL three stars of the week:
3) Mike Poulin, Calgary Roughnecks – 10 GA, stopped 39 of 49 shots – after a slow start (five goals in the first quarter) in their win over defending champion Rochester, Poulin settled in for one of the better performances of the season. Made 37 saves in the final three quarters, giving up just five goals helping Calgary in their comeback victory.
2) Jordan MacIntosh, Minnesota Swarm – 5 goals, 5 assists, 23 loose balls – scored five goals on nine shots in a losing effort at Toronto. Helped Minnesota in a eight-goal fourth quarter to make the game close. Won 37 of 61 faceoffs in two games.
1) Logan Schuss, Minnesota Swarm – 6 goals, 7 assists, 8 loose balls – the top overall draft pick has had a solid season up until now, but his most recent performance could propel Schuss to bigger things. The Ohio State product took 11 shots in each Swarm game over the weekend, hitting the net for five goals in the victory against Philadelphia.
