CLax Showdown: Lock Monsters Host Ohsweken

Niagara clash with Ohsweken on Monday

It is only Week 3 of play in the Canadian Lacrosse League, but two teams have stood out early on: Niagara and Ohsweken. Today those two teams will meet on the Seymour Hannah Arena floor for the first time in 2014.

Playing their fifth league game, the Lock Monsters (4-0) have sat atop the CLax standings from day one. Second half offense has been instrumental in all four victories, outscoring opponents 35-8. On Sunday Niagara defense and goalie Grant Crawley stopped the Durham Turfdogs 10-7. Crawley entered the game in relief of starter Connor Danko, who gave up four early goals. Niagara trailed 5-1 at one point in the opening quarter, but stormed back for the victory.

The only other remaining undefeated team in CLax, the Ohsweken Demons (2-0) are the highest scoring team. Two victories and 41 goals against the Southwest Cyclops have the fans of the Demons thinking Creators’ Cup, a trophy they captured in the inaugural CLax season of 2012.

Game time is scheduled for 2 PM (ET) and will stream live on Livestream at http://new.livestream.com/canadianlacrosse/events/2760991 by JVI Video Production.
