CLax Preview: Barrie Blizzard

The inaugural season for the Barrie Blizzard is probably one they would like to forget. Winning just three of 14 league games found the Blizzard looking up at everyone else in CLax. A new season brings new hope and hopefully for Barrie fans, more victories.
The Blizzard recently made news with the front office addition of Brian Beisel, a long-time veteran player in the MSL and NLL. For the past two seasons Beisel was the head coach of Brampton Inferno, compiling an 16-12 regular season record.
In the three CLax preseason showcase games on January 18 Barrie came away with promising results:
  • Ohsweken Demons 16, Barrie 6
  • Barrie 10, SouthWest Cyclops 10
  • Barrie 8, Niagara Lock Monsters 4
The Blizzard did lead the league in one category in 2013: attendance. Barrie fans supported their club throughout. Now the second year franchise must deliver on the floor.
Barrie open the CLax season this Saturday when they travel to Iroquios Lacrosse Arena to face Niagara.
